Why we built PaLLi, and why it's different from the chatbots you're used to.
The Amnesia Loop
Most AI "relationships" are grounded in amnesia. You talk to ChatGPT, it helps you, and then you close the tab. When you come back, you start over. It doesn't know you had a bad day yesterday. It doesn't remember you're trying to learn guitar. It's a tool, not a companion.
We believe that for AI to be truly helpful in a personal context, it needs continuity. It needs to build a model of your life, your goals, and your quirks over months and years, not just within a short recent chat.
Continuity + Follow-through
PaLLi is designed to do more than respond to the literal last message. It tracks loose threads, remembers what matters, and pays attention to subtext - so it can respond to the real ask (or ask the right clarifying question).
Proactive outreach is opt-in and guarded: timing signals, engagement checks, and quiet hours help keep it helpful instead of intrusive.
Your Data, Not Ours
Building a deep memory of someone's life requires immense trust. That's why we don't sell data. We don't use your personal memories to train our base foundation models.
We charge a subscription because you are the customer, not the product. The subscription covers the high computational costs of long-term memory storage, live web search, and premium AI compute.
Co-Evolution & Identity
Your data is stored securely and used only to personalize your experience - never sold or used to train foundation models. While we have system logs for debugging, we don't actively monitor your conversations. This means we rely on you to report bugs, wrong answers, or awkward timing. You aren't just a user; you are a test pilot.
Furthermore, "PaLLi" (a nod to the pirate's parrot) is just a codename. At the end of early access, Founding Members will hold a vote to determine the permanent name and brand identity. You aren't just shaping the features; you're shaping the product's identity.
Where We're Going
This is just the beginning. The goal is to build a personal AI that follows you across platforms - Discord today, but SMS, Telegram, WhatsApp, and native apps are on the roadmap.
Discord voice is live in active testing: PaLLi can join voice channels, listen, and respond, while etiquette, timing, and interruption behavior continue to be refined. Vision capabilities for image understanding are also in testing.
Long-term, PaLLi should feel less like "an AI you talk to" and more like "context that follows you." A persistent layer of memory and assistance that compounds over years, not sessions.
